David Pritchard appointed as Vice President Healthcare for Imperial Logistics’ African Regions business

We are pleased to announce the appointment of David Pritchard as Vice President Healthcare within the Imperial Logistics African Regions business, effective 1 March 2019. David will report to the Chief Executive of the African Regions division, Johan Truter. 

David Pritchard is a well-known figure in the pharmaceutical industry, having served the last 21 years with GSK, moving to Africa in 2008 as general manager of GSK’s South African Pharma business. He spent seven years as head of the International Region of ViiV (GSK’s antiretroviral (ARV) business), overseeing the launch of Dolutegravir and Maraviroc and building leading market shares in Japan and Australia. Notably, ViiV was voted the world’s most patient-centric pharma company for three consecutive years from 2014-16. Most recently, David served as head of GSK’s Africa and Developing Countries unit, leading a £500 million pharmaceutical and vaccine business of 1,800 people across 50 countries. 

Johan Truter, CEO of the African Regions business of which David will form part, says, “David is a dynamic, multicultural and transformative senior executive with 30 years of broad, solid commercial pharmaceutical experience and a history of delivering outstanding success in both developed and emerging market settings. He joins Imperial Logistics to build and lead our expanded route-to-market offering in Africa and to support our expansion into additional emerging markets.
